Spiced Rhubarb Cookies

1 1/2 C diced rhubarb
1 C raisins
1/4 C water
1/2 C shortening
1 1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 C flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp soda
1 C nuts

Cook first 3 ingredients until soft. Add remaining ingredients in same pan. Drop by big tsp on greased cookie sheet and bake 15 minutes at 350°F.
