3 tablespoons butter 
1 1/2 cups sugar 
2 whole eggs 
1 egg, separated 
1 teaspoon lemon juice 
2 1/3  cups flour 
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 
1/4 teaspoon salt 
1 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg 
1/2 cup walnuts (chopped fine) 
 
Mix butter, sugar the 2 whole eggs, the extra egg yolk, and the lemon juice until fluffy 
Combine dry ingredients 
Add dry ingredients to butter mixture 
Stir in nuts 
Roll out dough to 1/16" thickness, cut cookies 
Place cookies on lightly greased cookie sheet 
Beat remaining egg white until frothy 
Brush cookies with egg white 
Bake at 375 F for 6 to 8 minutes
